Why is EJay Day such a familiar face? One might recall him from the first season of American Idol. EJay's talents sent him to Hollywood, and he became one of the Top 10 finalists! After the show aired, EJay traveled with the American Idol Tour and recalled that Cleveland, Ohio was the best show and said "the group had it together that night!" Since the show ended, EJay has been working on his new solo album. His diverse music talent and ability is revealed in his songs, including his future single "Come Into My World".

EJAY: Thanks for chatting with us. This interview was a lot of fun! I can't wait to hear your new music and see you live. I want to wish you the best of luck with your career, and I hope to keep in touch!

+++++++++++++++++++++

FRF: Can you introduce yourself?

EJay: I am EJay Day from the first season of American Idol. And, I made it as a finalist. I think that is about it. *pause* Oh! I'm 21, and my birthday is next weekend! *laughs* I can't wait!

FRF: Well, happy early birthday!

EJay: Thanks!

FRF: What singing experience did you have before American Idol?

EJay: As for singing experiences, I worked at 6 Flags over in Georgia. And, I was popular for doing National Anthems when I was younger at like Atlanta Braves games.

FRF: How did you find out about American Idol?

EJay: Actually, I had just finished doing Popstars 2 for the WB. I was like all upset... well, not all upset, but I didn't make it. Anyway, I was watching TV one day, and it flashed on a commercial for the Atlanta auditions. At first, I wasn't going to go. But, I was like, "I have nothing to lose" and just went. Then, I ended up going to Hollywood and being a finalist.

FRF: Tell me your thoughts about Randy, Paula, and Simon.

EJay: They are really cool people. They have always been supportive no matter what. Everyone thinks Simon is mean, but I think in America everyone is thinking the same thing he's thinking... but he says it in a... mean kind of way. *laughs* Randy is really cool. I think he is the most... he gives very good constructive criticism. And, Paula is just liking everybody. But, maybe she'll get meaner. She was mean this past season or at least meaner than last year.

FRF: Do you still keep in touch with the other contestants? If so, which ones?

EJay: Oh, yeah! I just got email from Kelly [Clarkson]. Let's see, everyone really; Nikki [McKibbin], Tamyra [Gray], RJ [Helton], Christina [Christian], A.J. [Gil], and Jim [Verraros]. Justin [Guarini] is really the only person I haven't talked to.

FRF: What was it like touring [with the American Idols]?

EJay: It was crazy, but it was a blast! All those people who came out to the arena and stuff. It was just amazing how many people came out. As the ten of us, it was really cool and a different experience. No one has done that before, so we were all pretty happy. It was a hectic schedule though. It was hard to sleep. *laughs* I probably have insomnia now from it, but it was cool.

FRF: What did you think of the second season of American Idol?

EJay: I thought it was very good. I thought everyone had great voices. But, I still think we [American Idol 1] rocked the most though. I think we have more star quality. But, I think the second season was really cool. I got to meet a couple of them. I think they had it a little easier because if they watched the show, they knew a little bit more about it.

FRF: What advice would you give to future American Idol contestants?

EJay: I would say to go do it and go audition. Give it a shot. You don't have anything to lose. It's great publicity. If you don't make it, don't think that it's because of your voice. I've actually gone to the last auditions in Atlanta just to do interviews with people for a radio station and so many amazing people got cut! So, don't be offended if they cut you because it is a show, and they might not necessarily be looking for your type. Just keep going for it and don't give up if you don't make this.

FRF: When do you plan on releasing an album?

EJay: I do not know. It will probably be next year because the recording season is normally at the end of November. I released a single. You can't buy it because I just released it to radio stations. It is going really good. Everyone vote. *laughs* It's called "Come into My World". If that happens, it will probably be released at the end of this year.

FRF: What can we expect from the album?

EJay: My album will definitely be something different. It will definitely be a fun album, at least for the first one. I might get deeper on the second one.

FRF: What would you like to say to your fans?

EJay: I want to thank them so much for their support and their love. Just believing in me as much as I believe in myself. Hopefully, they will keep supporting me. And keep visiting my website, ejayrocks.com. It has all my stuff on it. Thank you, thank you, and thank you again!
