Despite all of Chris Trousdale’s crazy screaming fans, Chris seems to keep a level head and remains a normal 18 year old. Despite his busy schedule, he made time for Amber & I to interview him at Kid's Fest on July 20th in Cleveland, Ohio. After talking with Chris for about 20 minutes, I almost forgot about the mob of girls standing outside the backstage gates. Chris is down to earth and made Amber and I feel at home. And despite some personal questions we asked, Chris didn't flinch and openly answered all the questions.

Chris: Thanks so much for taking time out of your day to let us interview you. You made us feel so at home, and you didn’t mind when my "klutzy self" knocked over the glass of water. Amber and I will support your career as long as you are performing. We hope that we will be able to stay in touch with you as long as we can.

Louie: You have no idea how much we at Front Row Fanz appreciate you for allowing us to interview Chris. We have no way to express our gratitude.

Matt: We really look forward to seeing you again. Also, thanks for all of the merchandise you gave us - that was too sweet! We will be getting in contact with you soon and can't wait to see you again.

FRF: Can you introduce yourself?

Chris: My name is Christopher Trousdale, Chris Trousdale, as many fans know me as.

FRF: How were you discovered?

Chris: Um, I was actually... I’ve been in the business since I was really little. But as far as the pop business goes, I would sing in the shower every morning. And my manager Brian Lukow had an apartment beside me, so he’d hear me in the shower every morning. One day, I was in the elevator and he was like ‘Are you the kid who sings every morning?’, and he told me that he and Louie, Louie Baldonerie, were going to start a boyband. I really didn’t know what a boyband was since I was from a Broadway background, but I said 'Sure I’ll check it out', and I went and did the dance audition and singing audition, and I got the job. I guess the rest is history.

FRF: How would you describe your music style?

Chris: Um, well as a solo artist, I’d say it’s changed a little bit. It has more beats now. Before the dancing was a little harder to do, since I couldn’t live up to my potential since there were four other guys who weren’t as trained as I was, so it was a little harder to do my best. But now there are more beats, and Claudia has great dance moves for all the songs. It’s more R&B hip-hop and pop. It has a lot of diversity. I also have rock in there too.

FRF: What’s your favorite song to perform live?

Chris: Right now I’d say its Tongue Ring. It is about a girl who has a tongue ring, and she’s not the typical girl you’d take to your mom and say this is my girlfriend, so it is a little... it is a lot of fun. I have a good time.

FRF: What is it like working with Claudia [Swan]?

Chris: Claudia is amazing! I see her being one of the best and biggest [choreographers] out there. She’s just so different and original and works her butt off. And, I know in rehearsal my butt, I’m just worn out. Her choreography is really really difficult, and it gives the fans in the audience something to look at.

FRF: When can we expect your album to be released?

Chris: I would hope later this year, but I’m not sure. It will take til spring time or early summer. I don’t want to be fresh out of the box and have it bomb. I want it to do well and take time with it. I'll be touring a lot and letting the fans know my music, so they will want to buy it and not just because I was in a boyband. I really want to give it time, but we will see.

FRF: What is your first single going to be?

Chris: Um, there are about 2 or 3 songs that I'd really like to be my single, which is good since I'd have 3 singles I’d like. I guess right now I like “You Won't Let Me Let Go”, which is a mix of rock and hip hop - which I love to hear. And the choreography is great! *pause* And, my sound guy plays a great guitar on it!

FRF: Who are some of your musical influences?

Chris: I really try to find my own, but I listen to everything out there.

FRF: If you could perform with anyone who would it be?

Chris: Um, wow... there are a lot of great ones out there, but a duet let's see... Christina [Aguilera]... Mariah [Carey]. They just have great voices! They just blow me away. But dancing wise, I'd have to say Britney [Spears] kicks butt! She works her... her moves, so a dance break with her and then throw on Christina for singing.

FRF: What was it like recording with Play and Nikki Cleary?

Chris: Oh, they are great. The girls are great! At first, I thought it would be strange. We didn’t know each other, and I was thinking the worst, but it was great. Behind the scenes, we laughed and had fun. And Nikki, we worked for like 3 days for the choreography just laughing it up because if you mess up there’s no one to see you.

FRF: How have your family and friends reacted to your stardom?

Chris: They always knew it was a dream of mine, and they are waiting for the icing on the cake and for me to blow up. They just are happy for me. When I was little, I always wanted this, and they told me to persue it.

FRF: What would you say has been your scariest fan encounter?

Chris: The ones that really freak out. They seem calm, but they come up and start screaming. I mean you're happy they are there, but it catches you off guard and you're scared, just thrown off.

FRF: What is the coolest thing a fan has done for you?

Chris: Um, I like crab and lobster, but a fan was on her boat in upstate New York, and she caught me some crabs. And I was signing autographs, and she was like ‘Here Chris. I got you crabs’ and brought me a Tupperware full of live crabs. I was like 'You're kidding me. Are those alive?' She was like 'Well, yeah. You have to cook them don’t you.' I was like 'Wow! Mom, we got some live ones over here', but I loved it. How cool was it that she thought of me on her boat. I love all gifts.

FRF: Are you single?

Chris: Am I single, yeah. I'm so busy. I rehearse 7 days a week - and the hours... No, I am single... ladies. *wink*

FRF: Would you ever date a fan?

Chris: Sure, why not. I actually met some girls at 6 Flags yesterday. I was just acting like I do with fans, and I went on a ride with a fan. She was so smart and sweet, and you don’t get to know fans like that a lot.

FRF: What would you like to say to your fans?

Chris: Thanks! You’ve been so cool and supportive. The fans who have been there since I was in Dream Street and the new fans, thanks for the support. I can only imagine my favorite group breaking up... they are just so supportive. Thanks!
